Fall/Winter 2024-2025 season registration will be open in late September.

Hanover Youth Basketball League is designed to introduce young (beginner) players to the sport while enhancing and fine-tuning the skills of more experienced players. Your child will learn the fundamentals of basketball with age-appropriate skills, drills, and game-play rules.  Our League is set up to help build confidence and ability as the season progresses. Your player will improve their understanding of the sport, shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the season.

• Age-appropriate instruction emphasizes fun, skills improvement, and gameplay.
• All skill levels are welcome –  boys players in 2nd-12th grade and girls players in 3rd-9th grade are evaluated and drafted in an attempt to balance each team.
• Everyone plays at least half of every game.
• No fundraisers.
• Virginia High School League (VHSL) trained officials at every game (Boys 2nd-12th Grade & Girls 3rd-9th Grade)
   

FALL/WINTER 2024-2025 SEASON INFORMATION

• Registration Fees (CURRENT 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR GRADE):
  • Bitty Ballers (CoEd Pre-K & Boys K), Boys 1st Grade, Girls (K-2nd): Early Bird Registration Fee: $130 per player through 10/1/24
  • Bitty Ballers (CoEd Pre-K & Boys K), Boys1st Grade, Girls (K-2nd):  Base Registration Fee: $150 per player (through 10/30/24)
  • Bitty Ballers (CoEd Pre-K & Boys K), Boys 1st Grade, Girls (K-2nd): Late Registration Fee: $170 per player (starting 10/31/24 if spots are available) 
  • Boys 2nd-12th Grade & Girls 3rd-9th: 
    Early Bird Registration Fee: $200 per player through 10/1/24
  • Boys 2nd-12th Grade & Girls 3rd-9th:  
    Base Registration Fee: $220 per player through 10/30/24
  • Boys 2nd-12th Grade & Girls 3rd-9th:
    Late Registration Fee: $240 per player (starting 10/31/24 if spots are available) 
  • Sibling Discount:  $10 for 2nd child; $15 for 3rd or 4th child (These discounts are applied at checkout)
• Late Registrations: We may be able to accept a limited amount of late registrations for some divisions.  Please email us after 10/30 to let us know what grade your player is in and we will respond with instructions for online registrations.
• Player Evaluations: Tentatively November 3  from 1:00-6:00 pm 
  NOTE: Bitty Ballers (Pre-K / Kindergarten) and CoEd 1st Grade players do not have evaluations.
  While we strongly encourage all players to attend evaluations, players who aren't able to attend Evaluations will still be placed on a team.
• Team Creation / Drafts: November 2-13
• Schedule: November 16, 2024 - March 2, 2025
  • Dates may be subject to change considering extenuating circumstances.
  • League games and practices for most divisions will be scheduled on weekends.  We schedule Saturday morning through evening, or Sunday late morning/ early afternoon through evening.  Some divisions may need to be moved to weeknights in the event of extenuating circumstances.  Depending on registration numbers and facility needs this is also subject to change.
• Eligibility: Boys and Girls Players in Pre-K - 12th grade
  • Hanover County Virginia and non-Hanover County residents are welcome.
  • Players will be grouped into Divisions by current grades as of the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Players with conflicts are welcome, but please advise us of potential scheduling conflicts during registration.
• Facilities Locations: 
  • ​Locations: Big Ben's Home Court (Richmond, VA) and schools/gyms in or around Hanover County, VA (TBD).
